I'm Veronica,
Italian born and raised in Rome with America in my heart, between western movies, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis songs. muscle cars and pin ups.
My dream since I was a child was to know the America I saw in movies. I dreamed of the romantic landscapes of Georgia and imagined walking on the beautiful beaches of California. Over the years Los Angeles has become my favorite city and I promised myself that I would live there one day.
After my first trip in 2014 I had the confirmation that I had a special bond with this city. Something deep that cannot be explained in words, it is that certainty that makes you say "I belong here, this is where I have to be".
I would never have imagined that only a few years later it would become what I would call home! My move deserves a separate post!
I must admit that it is not easy to emigrate so far away to a country where you have no one, where you have to learn a new language, new habits and new rules.
I am a creative spirit, I like to sing, sew, draw, create jewelry, t-shirts and much more. I have always read a lot and written: diaries, thoughts, stories, my dream is to publish a novel and for years I had been thinking about writing a blog even just to share my thoughts but I didn't know where to start, until I started doing some research and I found the inspiration to even make it a profession! I studied computer science, I did different jobs, accountant, secretary, door-to-door saleswoman, real estate, busser, runner, bar back and waitress in a restaurant, but they were jobs that only allowed me to "survive" I wanted more, when I reached 37 years old (you read that right! I turned 37 in January) I wanted economic stability, I wanted to be able to go out to dinner or buy a nice dress without having to worry that the next check would barely be enough for the rent! Instead of doing a job, I wanted a profession! The difference is huge!
Life is full of surprises and I believe that any dream is achievable if you work hard to pursue it.
